Famous faces

For Sten Berglind On the wall of our small guest toilet I have put up a lot of classic photos; Madonna, John Fogerty and Tom Jones - all signed "To Henry". Also a signed photo of Elisabeth Taylor and a picture of Sean Connery together with my friend Sten who is a journalist. Once we had a problem with the pipes in our flat and one morning the super came to fix it. -Hey, look at all these photos, I heard him say. I was just about to tell him the story of my background in the record business and how friends had arranged all these signed photos and no, I never met Madonna or Tom Jones… But before I could answer I heard the super from inside: - Hey, isn't this the guy who writes about old cars in the paper? Sten is a really tough guy but he will be proud when he reads this. Published in Chiron Review #71, 2003
